Please note that upgrading your MAC to OSX 10.7 or above will break the ability for the Wireless Media Stick to share a folder on your MAC. See here: 10.7x MAC update breaks SMB file sharing
If you have a 10.6x MAC or below, and wish to share a folder to your Wireless Media Stick, see below:
The Mac can share a folder to a Windows machine, and vice versa. The same technology allows you to share folders from your Mac and play them on your media player using the WirelessMediaStick. Please follow the steps below to enable Mac SMB (Windows) file sharing.
1. Open System Preferences from the Mac menu
2. From the sheet that opens, click on 'Sharing'
3. Check 'File Sharing' then click 'Options'
4. Ensure that Share Files and Folders using SMB (Windows) is checked. Click Done to finish turning on file sharing.
5. You will be returned to the 'Sharing' sheet and you will notice that File Sharing is On.
Now that folder sharing is setup on the Mac, please ensure that the Everyone account is setup to access shared folders:
If you share your Mac folder with 'Everyone' and it still isn't working, be sure that the 'Everyone' account has the right to access shared folders. To check this:
1) Click the Apple and then System Preferences
2) Click Accounts
3) Click the lock to unlock the sheet so you can make changes.
4) Enter your password
5) Click on the 'Guest Account' and ensure that 'Allow guests to connect to shared folders' is checked.
